Our Process

Onboarding of New Clients- CFO

Our onboarding process will take approximately eight weeks to get fully settled in. Our purpose during this period is to properly gain a solid understanding of the company’s financial and operational procedures to assess its current financial health and opportunities for improvement.

Controller Onboarding Process

Our onboarding process will take approximately six weeks to get fully settled in. Our purpose during this period is to properly gain a solid understanding of the company’s financial and operational procedures in order to assess its current financial health and opportunities for improvement.

Transactional Onboarding Process

Our onboarding process will take approximately four weeks to get fully settled in. Our purpose during this period is to properly gain a solid understanding of the company’s financial and operational procedures to assess its current financial health and opportunities for improvement.

About Me

Dean Vance, CPA

Dean brings over 22 years of accounting and tax experience to his practice, having started his firm in 1996. His areas of expertise include tax preparation, tax consulting, small business consulting and profit planning. He is also well-trained in QuickBooks, Accountants World and the popular Microsoft Office suite of applications. Dean received his Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. Joseph’s University, before taking tax courses at Drexel’s Master’s in Taxation program.

He has served on the boards of non profits in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties. Several times a year he enjoys catching up with his friends at PASBA (Professional Association of Small Business Accountants) during their several conferences. He also enjoys time with family, reading (classics, American history, Philosophy) and golf.

Virtual CFO Services

Vance & Associates CPA was founded in 1996 in Philadelphia, PA. With a closely connected process, we provide Virtual CFO services, including cash flow management, strategic tax planning, and financial forecasting.

Strategic Tax Planning Services

We Review prior tax returns, current financials, entity structure and your responses to our questions.

A-La-Carte Services

This portion of our service offering handles all of the functions of a bookkeeper. We would code and maintain your accounts payable including credit cards, ensure bills are paid timely, and make sure that your accounting software is updated regularly.

Payroll Services

Although we are not a payroll provider such as ADP or Gusto, we do assist our clients with this aspect of the business.

Cash Flow Management

In order to ensure that we have a strong handle on the company’s short-term cash position we create a 4-8 week cashflow forecaster and then meet with a member of your internal team for a 30 minute meeting to discuss the cash ebbs and flows for the near term.

Credit Card Receipt Tracking

If you permit your team to possess company credit cards it is important to make sure that all activity is properly documented and coded. We recommend using a service such as Expensify to ensure that all receipts are accounted for its corresponding activity.
