How it all began \u2013 an adopted dog needed to be \u201cheard.\u201d<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

A year after Darby was adopted from a rescue, he hadn\u2019t settled into his forever home and exhibited high anxiety in public and around strangers.\u00a0 Plenty of love, sessions with trainers, and lots of exercise had nominal impact on his anxiety.\u00a0 An animal communicator was hired to see if Darby could provide insights and information as to\u00a0\u201cwhy<\/strong>\u201d\u00a0<\/em>he\u00a0 was anxious and\u00a0\u201cwhat<\/strong>\u201d\u00a0<\/em>could be done to ease his anxiety.<\/p>

The communicator relayed all information and insights received from Darby. That information\u00a0 led to major changes, and the changes resulted in behavior that prompted neighbors to ask if it was the \u201csame dog.\u201d<\/p>

Given the observable positive impact on Darby,\u00a0the\u00a0 obvious question was -could animal communication be a useful tool for\u00a0rescues and shelters?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>

An online search revealed communication with animals was neither \u201cnew\u201d nor rare.\u00a0 For decades private clients have hired animal communicators to get information that could improve their animals\u2019 lives and deepen their relationship.\u00a0 The websites showcase testimonials about the benefits to the animals and their humans.\u00a0 However, the search didn\u2019t locate any programs or organizations that focused on providing animal communication to rescues or shelters.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The decision to create Giving Animals Voice.<\/h2>\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In 2021, the founder initiated 2 pilots \u2013 to test assumptions that providing animal communication services could benefit the animals and the caregivers.\u00a0 The feedback affirmed the assumptions so Giving Animals Voice was incorporated as a non-profit to 1) make animal communication widely available\u00a0 to animals in shelters and rescues; 2) to improve the quality of life while in the shelters and rescues; 3) to facilitate optimal adoptions; and 4) to develop practices, processes and data that may be shared with others.\u00a0<\/p>

Giving Animals Voice continues to provide Pilot projects to offer FREE communication sessions to animals in shelters, rescues and sanctuaries.<\/p>
